1940’s; Misses’ and Women’s Set of Bra Tops: “Simple to Make”: Style I is cut in two pieces and held in place with elastic casing at the upper and lower edges. In Style II, the upper and lower sections are faced. Tie ends, tacked to the front seam, may be tied around the neck or in a bow at the centre front. Styles III and IV, fitted with darts, are faced and button in the back. The shoulder straps, in Style III, are adjustable in front and seamed to the back. A cable cord, drawn through casing at the centre front, fastens into a bow and a band finishes the lower edge. In Style IV, a tie is tacked at the centre front and ties into a knot. A neck strap supports the bra.
